Mezcal Milk Punch
Recently, we tried this Mezcal Milk Punch found in @imbibe Magazine and coming straight off of the menu of @velveteenrabbitlv . Written in a smaller column by the end of the magazine this recipe stood out to us. With it's smokey base spirit, its chocolate sweet flavors and its kick from the Ancho verde we couldn't help but imagine a Oaxacan inspired Christmas.
Ingredients
1 oz. mezcal
½ oz. crème de cacao, we used @tempus_fugit_spirits
½ oz. @anchoreyes Chile Liqueur
1 oz. coconut milk - DRINKING (carton) COCONUT MILK ONLY.
Dark chocolate for garnish - we used @tchochocolate 's extra dark
Tools
Shaker
Julep Strainer
Old Fashioned glass
Instructions
Shake all the ingredients with ice
Strain into an ice-filled glass
Garnish with a piece of dark chocolate
P.S. One thing to note, our first time making this was an absolute failure!! We used canned coconut milk, not carton coconut milk. This made the drink an oily disaster with almost no flavor.
