Midsommar

This cocktail is a super refreshing, yet slightly bitter and herbaceous thanks for the Aquavit and Meletti. We enjoy adding this type of slight complexity to otherwise lemonade-esque drinks. We’ve been playing with Aquavit for a while now trying to get it to be refreshing and feel like we’ve finally unlocked it! This slight modification of the classic Paper Plane recipe/ratio allows for the Aquavit to take the spotlight but is balanced out by juiciness from the lemon/Aperol combo. The Meletti creeps up towards the end leaving a slightly bitter/cola aftertaste on your palette.

Ingredients

• 1.5oz Aquavit we used @venusspirits

• 1oz fresh squeezed lemon juice

• 0.75oz Aperol - @aperolusa

• 0.75oz Meletti - @meletti_official

Tools

• Shaker

• Mesh strainer

• Hawthorne strainer

Instructions

• Shake with ice

• Double strain into a chilled coupe

• Express lemon peel over glass

• Garnish with star anise
