Smoke On the Water

We recently made a lazy passionfruit grog and smoked it with cinnamon before serving and can attest that it was downright incredible!! The baking spice notes that infuse deeply into the drink are just something else and blend incredibly with the passion fruit flavor. We’ve been using the heck out of @liberandco ‘s Passion Fruit Syrup and can confirm that this is the shortcut to paradise, liquid gold, LITERALLY bliss in a bottle. Catch the recipe below!

Ingredients

  • 2oz Overproof Jamaican Rum - we used Smith and Cross

  • 0.25oz All Spice dram - we used St. Elizabeth’s

  • 0.75oz fresh squeezed lime juice

  • 0.5oz Passionfruit syrup - we used @liberandco

Tools

  • Shaker

  • Hawthorne strainer

  • Cloister or drink cover

  • Culinary smoker (optional)

Instruction

  • Shake all ingredients with crushed ice in shaker tin 3-4 seconds.

  • Pour into chilled double old fashioned.

  • Top with way more crushed ice.

  • Garnish with scored lime, mint and torched cinnamon stick.

  • Cover glass with a vessel and allow cinnamon smoke to gather around the drink.

  • Once it’s looking pretty smoky, serve.
